Project 365 day 71: Tonight I attended a Dashboard Confessional show at People's Court in Des Moines, thanks to a good friend who lives in the area and has some connections. The abundance of concert-going options was one thing about living in DC that I thought I might miss being back in Iowa, but in truth I've found that I'm still overwhelmed by options. The big name shows in arenas and stadiums may be fewer and further between, but that's actually a good thing. Places like the Hoyt Sherman, People's Court, and Vaudeville Mews (I expect anyway, haven't made it to a show there yet) are cheaper, more interesting, and have better acoustics. And when someone like Conan O'Brien goes on tour, we don't mind taking a little drive... Kansas City here we come!
