Tomorrow Amy's parents are having a reception in Anamosa for her sister and brother-in-law, who got married in Washington state back in June. Amy's mom has been busy with preparations, but Amy and I may have had one of the most important jobs... getting the recently-weds from the Des Moines airport in central Iowa over to eastern Iowa, the land of Quaker Oats, Cornell College, and Grant Wood. On our journey we stopped at the McDonald's near Colfax for some food, and then about an hour later the driver (that would be me) needed to make a "comfort" stop and found another McDonald's near Williamsburg. As we stood in line to order some drinks in return for use of their facilities, I noticed that the restaurant was giving equal wall space to Iowa Hawkeye and Iowa State Cyclone gear, such as this ISU scarf. That's something special when you're outside a 30 mile range of Ames!
